Out to discover new music, Murkem went to The Stage Miami to watch his homie Jabrjaw and his new school Miami Bass click the Death Jam Posse perform. Otto Von Schirach was the headliner of the show and inspired Murkem immediately with his off the wall stage show along with the incorporation of DJing, emceeing and rapping into his set. He then made it his mission to take Nick Flash to see one of Ottos performances, knowing it would inspire him and open his mind to new possibilities in the way Killa Boombox performs.
Weeks later, Murkem saw Otto was headlining a show at The Nest Miami with Lil Debbie. It was time to take Nick Flash to witness the chaos first hand. When they arrived, there was actually a whole slew of emerging underground hip hop talent performing original songs. Local Palm Beach homie Al Kush took the stage, and opened for guys like Wil E. Haze & Verse One.
After getting a nice buzz off of Fat Tire and flirting with a few hipster chicks in see through clothing, Nick Flash was able to catch up with Otto before his set and shoot the shit with him. Being that they both grew up in Hialeah on the sounds of 2 Live Crew & The Gucci Crew, they bonded instantly and Nick knew for a fact this dude was about to get the place turnt the fuck up.
Otto hit the outside stage in an outfit you’d probably see a genie wearing if you found a magic lamp in Arabia. Otto’s attire was complete with gold jewelry and medallions fitted with sparkling gems. He grabbed the microphone and captivated the attention of the crowd whom, before he took the stage, seemed kinda lost. Soon as he dropped his signature 808 Booty Bass, the crowd was hooked, and the energy was through the roof. The booty shaking and twerking commenced. Before Nick Flash knew it, the music, the weed and the alcohol in his system all mixed together and soon was breaking it down, bumping and grinding with hot chicks. Unfortunately, the pictures he took were as blurry as his vision was that night, but you get the picture.
To add to the outrageousness, Otto brought a gang of characters with him that seemed as if they were from another realm or dimension. There was a drag-queen dressed like the Chiquita Banana Girl, a mutant alligator rocking gold chains and an UM jacket, Mister Feathers: a bird like cross breed of a hype-man, and MC, then there was Nasti, who also looked like a character out of Arabia, all decked out in gold. To sum it up, they killed it!
After Otto’s performance, everybody went inside to check out Lil Debbie’s show. The bartenders inside were ultra cute and dressed really hip. The room was packed full of Lil Debbie fans and was a bit difficult to get to the front to see her. Debbie took to the stage with a bit of technical difficulty, but once she got back on track, the crowd was soon vibiin to her funky rhymes about smokin blunts, sipping lean, and turning the fuck up.
